Pavement Method: Water-Resistant Drainage Pavement Method (POSMAC Method)

Waterproof drainage pavement (POSMAC) is a technology for constructing drainage pavements. 【Features】 ○ Using an asphalt finisher equipped with an emulsion spraying device (SPAF), high-concentration modified asphalt emulsion (cationic GS-C) is sprayed in large quantities and uniformly while simultaneously laying the drainage mixture, forming a waterproof layer beneath the drainage mixture layer to protect the base surface from infiltrating rainwater and other sources. ○ By utilizing this method, the reliability of the pavement is enhanced by protecting the base surface compared to conventional drainage pavements that are constructed in a single layer. ○ It allows for significant cost reduction compared to drainage pavements constructed in two layers, including the base layer. ○ The filling of asphalt contributes to stress relief effects, which is expected to suppress reflection cracking. ● For other functions and details, please download the catalog.

Waterproof drainage pavement method POSMAC

By utilizing this construction method, the reliability of the pavement is enhanced by protecting the base layer compared to conventional drainage pavements that are constructed more extensively.

A waterproof layer is formed beneath the drainage mixture layer to protect the base surface from infiltrating rainwater and other sources. Compared to drainage pavements that consist of a two-layer structure including the base, this significantly reduces costs.
